Small group training session at AO Hoops

Why small groups work

Individual training isolates. Small group training elevates. When you train with 3–5 athletes who are at or above your level, the reps get harder, the decisions get faster, and the competitive energy creates conditions an individual session can't replicate.

You can't fake it in a group. The defender is real. The pace is real. The accountability is real. And the standard the group sets becomes the floor everyone trains to.

How we structure it

Sessions are capped at five athletes — enough to create real competition, small enough to maintain coaching quality on every rep. Positions are mixed intentionally. Guards guard forwards. Forwards guard guards. The best players can guard everyone, and we train that from day one.

Every session integrates the same three pillars as everything else AO Hoops does — skills, basketball IQ, mental performance. The difference is the environment: live defense, contested reads, real-time accountability, real consequences.

What gets built

  • Competitive drills — reps run at game speed, with defenders and consequences attached
  • Live decision reps — situations that mirror what games actually demand
  • Group film — review together, learn from each other, hold each other to the standard
  • Accountability culture — the group enforces the standard; nobody has to coach effort

Who it's for

Athletes who are ready to be pushed — and ready to push others. If you're looking to get comfortable, this isn't it. If you're looking to get better in conditions that actually look like the game, this is exactly it.

1-on-1 player development session at AO Hoops

1-on-1 Player Development

Individual sessions built around the exact skills, decisions, and habits holding you back. No template. No group reps. A direct attack on the things between where you are and where you want to be.

Repeatable shooting mechanics work at AO Hoops

The Shooting Lab

A dedicated shooting rebuild — 18 sessions across 2 phases. Seven mechanical checkpoints from the base to the release, then transfer it to catch-and-shoot, off the dribble, contested, and fatigued. Fix the shot, then trust it.
