Privacy Policy

AO Hoops (“we”, “us”) operates aohoops.training and the training platform behind it. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Plain language; we’ll keep it that way.

What we collect

When you create an account, train, or contact us, we collect:

  • Account info — your name, email, password (stored hashed), and whether you signed in with email or Google.
  • Training data — sessions you mark complete, drill scores you log, your training level, and streak/activity counts.
  • Billing info — handled entirely by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Application info — when you submit the contact form, the information you provide (name, email, phone, position, goals, etc.).
  • Session cookies — to keep you signed in.
  • Basic device info — IP address and user agent from sign-in requests, used for security.

How we use it

  • To run your account, deliver your training, and track your progress.
  • To process membership payments through Stripe.
  • To send transactional email — invite links, magic sign-in links, and important account or billing notices — via Resend.
  • To respond to your contact form submissions and training applications.
  • To improve the product and keep it secure.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not run third-party advertising on the platform.

Who we share with

We rely on a small set of service providers, each of which processes information on our behalf under their own privacy practices:

  • Stripe — payments and subscription billing.
  • Resend — transactional email (invites, magic links, contact notifications).
  • Neon — managed Postgres database hosting.
  • Vercel — application hosting and serverless infrastructure.
  • Google — only if you choose “Continue with Google” for sign-in.

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of AO Hoops or our members.

Your choices and rights

  • You can update your name, email, and training level on your account page.
  • You can cancel your membership at any time through the billing portal; access continues until the end of the period you paid for.
  • You can request that we delete your account and training history — email alex@aohoops.training and we’ll handle it. Some records (such as past billing history) may be retained where required by law.
  • You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time; transactional account/billing email is part of operating the service.

Children and parental consent

AO Hoops is designed for athletes from middle school upward. If you are under 13, do not create an account or submit information through this site without a parent or guardian. If you are between 13 and 18, your parent or guardian should review this policy with you before signing up or subscribing. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it.

Data retention and security

We keep account, training, and billing records for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the service and meet legal obligations. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever experience an incident affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, by email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
